Anyone else experiencing problems with wavy cuts? How did you remedy the situation? We seem to cut nice and straight some times but then not so good once in a while... can't quite pin down what the deal is! Any insight would be great.

is sawdust building up on the track or in the groove in the wheels? i have also found it helpful to watch the Woodland Mills videos, this mill is almost the exact same mill as the Harbor Freight

We were milling alot of sappy pine and the saw dust was building up in the grooves of the wheels... every now and again we would stop and clean it out (one time we neglected to do so and the carriage slid off the track!). We remedied that situation by wiring some canvas-like material to the frame, now the sawdust rolls right off without getting all over the track/wheels. I will post some pictures on it later, perhaps on a new "modification" post. We also hooked up a 5 gallon bucket to the carriage to catch the sawdust.

Pine is just going to be wavy no mater what you do but slowing down & using a sharp blade is going to help. It is a pain to remove the bark but blades are going to last much longer if you do. I try to remove the bark where the blade is going to be entering.

Those 7° blades also cut wavy. I had resharpened the blade that had came with the saw & used it again yesterday. It felt good going through the wood. It was really sharp but it still cut really wavy. So I went back to my 4° blades. They don't feel as sharp & cut slower but they will cut without wave.

Did up some red oak and ash with no wavy cut issues. As so many others have pointed out, the blade that comes with the mill is pretty awful.

Tip is huge when cutting pine. The 7/8 spacing follows grain too much unless super sharp. Try timberwolf 3/4 pitch they are 21.00.
Almost always wavy cuts are blade sharpness or pitch issues
